TEACHER CADET IS AWARDED GRANT FUNDS Fall 2007 Rose Community Foundation & Daniel’s Fund Teacher Cadet is pleased to announce that the program has received a $92,000 grant from the Rose Community Foundation and $90,000 from the Daniel’s Fund over the next two years. The grant funds will be used to work with consulting firms to develop data collection, evaluation systems, and to continue program expansion and teacher professional development. UN. OF NORTHERN COLORADO ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Dec. 2007 Teacher Cadet is excited to announce that students, who complete the honors Teacher Cadet course with a B or better and attend UNC, will receive credit for the EDF366 Education Foundations course. This is a very positive step towards building a career pathway for teachers in Colorado. Congratulations to UNC for having vision! UN. OF COLORADO AT DENVER CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES Fall 2008 UCD is continuing the credit opportunities offered to Teacher Cadets and the site teachers working with Cadets during the field experience. Students have the option to earn two credits towards college teacher education field experience hours. Teachers working with Teacher Cadets during the field experience also have the opportunity to earn additional graduate credits. Thank you to UCD for your continued support of a teacher career pathway! COLORADO COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM TEACHER ARTICULATION CCCS signed at state-wide articulation agreement with Teacher Cadet. This provides those students, with a B or better in Teacher Cadet, who enroll in the community college system the opportunity to receive credit for the elementary Intro to Education course. UCCS OFFERS COLORADO SPRINGS TEACHER CADETS CREDIT OPPORTUNITY The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs offers a concurrent credit opportunity for Teacher Cadets through an innovative combination of Teacher Credit course work and seminars at the university campus. TEACHER CADET IDENTIFIED IN GOVERNOR’S RITTERS COLORADO PROMISE
“Work with school districts to develop Teacher Cadet programs. These programs will encourage high school juniors and seniors who express an interest in teaching to pursue this as a career field. Students will earn college credits for a year-long course that introduces them to subject matter such as cognitive learning, lesson planning, tutoring, pedagogy and child development. As Governor, I will support such initiatives and promote additional programs.”  |
